Les Willis BA (Hons) MA Les grew up uneventfully playing rugby before leaving school and moving north where he entered the catering trade. This saw him through to Lancaster University where he obtained his first degree in History and had his first work published in Working Children in 19th Century Lancashire edited by Mike Winstanley. His university years saw two significant events: he took up American Football and met his wife.
Playing American Football was the initiator of Les' first real interest in health, training and nutrition. By the time he graduated in 1997 with his Masters and decided to drop the contact sports for lifting weights, he had turned his attention firmly to the athletic arena spending a year as strength and conditioning coach for his former team. In 2006 he took his professional development further by studying to become a State Registered Dietitian at Coventry University through a degree in Nutrition.
Les is a moderator on the bodybuilding, strength and fitness discussion forum www.MuscleTalk.co.uk, and when not involved in sports or nutrition, he likes to ride his motorcycle and spend as much time as possible with his wife and son.
